Growing Lettuce

A vegetarian diet is believed to be the best choice for living healthy and longer. It is strongly believed by many that vegetarians live a bit longer than the non-vegetarians. By using this method, you can grow lettuce all the year long.

Lettuce grows quite fast as compared to other vegetables. There are different varieties of lettuce. The leaf lettuce is fairly common and can be easily grown. On the other hand, butterhead lettuce is also delicious having creamy butter centre. Moreover, romaine another variety of lettuce having crispy leaves that adds much to the taste of this type of lettuce. Crisphead lettuce is that type of lettuce which takes a greater time to grow. Moreover, it also requires certain specific weather conditions.

Lettuce requires cooler media for germination.  In order to grow lettuce, it is required to follow certain tips. Ventilation and moisture must be ensured to get the best quality lettuce. The best time to plant lettuce seeds is most probably the start of spring season. You are suggested to add good quality fertiliser because only then it will give you good leaf quality. 

As lettuce needs cool weather conditions so it should be grown under the shade of some huge trees or should be placed in shady areas. You must weed them on a regular basis because it has shallow roots. Also prevent the lettuce from being attacked by bugs.
